Terms of use
Last updated 9 July 2026.
These terms apply to your use of Tax App (taxapp.nz and app.taxapp.nz). By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read - if anything is unclear, ask us at support@taxapp.nz.
Early access
Tax App is in early access. It is free during this period, features may change, and occasional rough edges are part of the deal. If paid plans are introduced, existing users will be told well in advance and nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.
Not tax advice
Tax App calculates figures from the information you enter, using published IRD rates and brackets. It is a record-keeping and calculation tool, not tax, legal or financial advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for your tax filings - verify anything material with IRD or your accountant.
Your account and data
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Your data remains yours. You can export it (CSV, PDF) or delete your account at any time.
- Only upload documents you have the right to store and share with your organisation's members.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, probe or overload the service, access other users' data, or use Tax App for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and liability
We aim for the service to be reliable, and we back data up daily, but early-access software is provided as is without warranties. To the maximum extent New Zealand law allows, our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you have paid us for it (during free early access: zero). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged in the app or by email. You can stop using Tax App and delete your account at any time. If we ever discontinue the service, you will get notice and time to export your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
