Twenty years in software, much of it financial

I spent years at Xero as a lead engineer, in its sales and spend teams. Today I'm Principal, Engineering Excellence at one of our New Zealand owned banks. Looking after other people's financial data is my day job, and Tax App is held to that same standard.

Why it exists

Keeping track of rental or contract income shouldn't cost you a subscription to a full accounting package. Most of that software is built for businesses that invoice, chase debtors and run payroll. Own a rental or earn commission and you're paying every month for a great many features you will never open.

Tax App does the part you actually need. What came in, what went out, current IRD rates applied as they change, every record checked off against your bank, and a set of figures your accountant can pick up and use. It's free while it's in early access.
